I’ve never been in an all-out, natural cave. I’ve been in man-made cave replicas with built-in transportation, generally at amusement parks. I think I’ve managed to steer clear of caves because of the inherent danger of awakening a Balrog. Just a guess, though.

The tiniest bit of encouragement can go a very long way. A kind word here or a compliment there can do wonders for someone who is having a really rough go of things, so don’t be stingy. Also, don’t mistake encouragement for aggressive verbal assault, because those are complete opposites.

I was going through a lot of files and papers and cabinets and such not too long ago. While rummaging, I found some old stories and drawings that I had done. It was like finding a bit of treasure. In fact, finding things you had once worked on so hard is truly a great experience, unless the things you did were horrible. Then it would have been better to find some cash or bacon.

Wednesday is here, and with it comes the Festival of Meats. I’m not sure if that’s real, but I’ll be looking for it for the rest of the day. I could go for some meats. Share/Bookmark

Guilt is a strong poison. Once it’s inside you, it will eat away and destroy you until you free it somehow. It’s just like a spicy bean burrito. Delicious, yet devastating as long as it’s inside you. Just like guilt, getting it out is sometimes hard on you and those around you, but you always feel better [*removes sunglasses*] in the end.

Not long ago, I was driving home, and I noticed a “Road Closed – High Water” sign standing nearly on the shoulder of a side road I pass often. So, I thought to myself, “Ooo… look at that. I’d better drive down there and see what’s going on.” So, I did. Now, my purpose was innocent curiosity, but as I started passing flooded homes and finally came to the spot where the road was completely submerged, I realized that I had totally blown off a very real sign placed by the local authorities. I’m rather strict when obeying traffic rules, but for whatever reason, it never registered to me that the sign I saw was meant for me. This lead to the realization that I have probably walked straight through all kinds of signs in my life without realizing they were meant for me. Maybe we should all keep a better eye out.
